鈥淏angor was my first choice to study my degree as the location was fantastic for the course I was doing and I was able to carry out my dissertation in and around Snowdonia National Park. I was able to go on many field trips around North Wales to see a variety of terrestrial and marine habitats and species which I thoroughly enjoyed and found very interesting.鈥�

Being located so close to so many great areas like Snowdonia and the forests and beaches of Anglesey made for some really great fields trips. The course had a wide range of modules and I could choose the ones I was really interested in, and the teaching was always great too.鈥�

The course was really enjoyable and I especially liked modules that involved energy such as; renewable energy, energy and society, field course: Barcelona, work placement, and sustainable development鈥� although the numerous field trips were equally as fun! Over the three years I gained extensive experience and knowledge into the energy industry by completing numerous work placements with energy companies and businesses.鈥�

鈥淯pon completion of my Conservation and Land Management MSc, I quickly gained employment as a project manager with a wildlife conservation charity. Many of the skills I developed as part of the course were essential in my day to day responsibilities including using geographical information software to map habitats, ecological sampling to assess population sizes and applying my understanding of metapopulations, habitat connectivity and management planning.鈥�

鈥淣early 5 years on from graduation I am finding the logistics and fast pace involved in modern commercial forestry to be both demanding and satisfying. 鈥淭he best thing about the degree was the field trips. The university is set in perfect surroundings for looking at what you鈥檙e studying. The final year trip to Tenerife was brilliant. Spending the day in the sun on a 2000 year old lava field definitely beats sitting in a lecture theatre.鈥�
