English Speaking Bird-Watching Guide in Cape Verde
'Explore Cape Verde', an ecotourism agency dedicated to offering nature-based excursions and promoting environmental awareness in Sal Island, Cape Verde听are currently seeking a passionate and knowledgeable English-speaking biologist with a strong interest in birdwatching to join our team as a guide for various nature excursions. 听The starting date for this position is as soon as possible. The ideal candidate will not only lead these excursions but also play a crucial role in raising environmental awareness among our guests. I have attached the job vacancy for your reference. Alumni and soon-to-graduate students would be an excellent fit for this position, given their background in biology and passion for environmental conservation.

We are looking for a graduate with a passion for forestry and woodland management to take on a role in preparing and submitting Woodland Management Plans, Felling Licences and applying for Creation and Management Grants. Other work may include beat-up surveys, timber measurement, hazardous tree surveys, preparing risk assessments and contractor supervision. If desired practical forestry work can be arranged too.

Join our team of Demonstrators
The College of Environmental Sciences and Engineering (comprising the School of Natural Sciences, the School of Ocean Science and the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering) is seeking to recruit demonstrators to support teaching, particularly laboratory and field-based work. Demonstrating provides an opportunity to gain experience in teaching, an essential aspect of the CV for those wishing to pursue a career in Higher Education. Prior to the start of the academic year, a list of opportunities will be posted here.
Suitably qualified and eligible students, and particularly research students, are encouraged to apply to join our team of demonstrators. Ideally, applicants should be studying for a postgraduate research degree in a relevant subject, but applicants from students on postgraduate taught programmes and the 4th Year of the undergraduate M-degree will also be considered. Duties may include assisting with teaching in laboratory classes or field courses in biology, zoology, geography, oceanography, marine sciences, conservation, environmental sciences, computer science or electronic engineering. Research students should discuss the extent of their contribution with supervisors before applying. Postdoctoral researchers are welcome to contribute but may not be paid additionally depending upon their employment contracts with the University.
If you are interested in becoming a demonstrator you should register on the University鈥檚 Casual Worker System. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK must be shown prior to starting the work. Visa nationals may be restricted to either 10 hours or 20 hours per week depending on their individual visas.
