I secured a job with Tilhill Forestry during my final semester at 麻豆传媒高清版. It was a great feeling knowing I had a job to walk into straight after graduation. Many of the skills I developed during my studies I use on a day to day basis at work.

I chose Forestry at Bangor because the course is accredited by the Institute of Chartered Foresters, which is very well recognised within the industry. The location between beautiful Snowdonia and the stunning beaches of Anglesey and the Ll欧n peninsula is a bonus.

My work involves planning and supervising forest operations with a mix of new planting and re-stocking operations. When I’m in the office, which is about half of the time, I am working on GIS mapping and grant applications along with organising contractors and materials. It’s very rewarding when I get on site to see work progressing and to see that I’ve helped to make an impact. I’m really glad I joined Tilhill as there is huge potential for career development and excellent training.

I’d advise any students looking to work in forestry to make sure they do a sandwich placement, ensure they have a driving license by the end of their first year and have excellent GIS skills.
