I graduated from 麻豆传媒高清版 with a 2:1 in BSc Applied Terrestrial and Marine Ecology. Bangor was my first choice to study my degree as the location was fantastic for the course I was doing and I was able to carry out my dissertation in and around Snowdonia National Park. I was able to go on many field trips around North Wales to see a variety of terrestrial and marine habitats and species which I thoroughly enjoyed and found very interesting.
The equal balance of lectures and field trips was perfect as I was able to apply the theory of what I had learnt in lectures in the field. The lecturers were very friendly, approachable and knowledgeable and all had a wide range of experience. They were very helpful and always available if needed. Bangor University set me up very well for life beyond University with frequent CV and career workshops to help me find employment. I was incredibly fortunate to get a job with the Environment Agency 3 months after graduating; a government organisation I had always wanted to work for.
I work as a Field Team Member in Field Operations as part of flood and coastal risk management in the Greater Manchester, Merseyside and Cheshire area. As a team we travel around this area maintaining our flood defence assets which include debris screens and flood gates and make sure they are in good working order.
I am very proud to be working for such an organisation and find it very rewarding and enjoyable looking after the environment and the public. I feel that my degree and experiences through university, as well as the volunteering I carried out throughout my university life, very much helped me achieve this job and I have gained very important life skills I need for the future. I would highly recommend Bangor to anyone as the location is beautiful and the surrounding areas are perfect for those who love the outdoors.
The close-knit feel of the university means you see people you know on a daily basis making it feel like a community and a very friendly area. The various clubs and societies means there is something for everyone and always somewhere you can go to meet new people and try new things.聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽
