Informal Screening
If you feel you may have a specific learning difference such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, or ADHD, we can provide a preliminary screening via email questionnaire. Once this is complete, we will discuss with you the next steps for support which you may require.

ADHD / Attentional Difficulties
With our assessments at Bangor, we are able to diagnose ADD/ADHD for study purposes. This format is widely recognised in the UK and students are advised that if they would prefer to get a medical diagnosis they can do so via GP referral. Our full assessment covers all specific learning differences including ADHD.

Autism Assessments
The University does not offer autism screening or assessment - this is only available via the NHS or privately. Click here for more information on Autism Assessments.
Full assessment / Assessment Fee
If you have previously had additional exam arrangements due to Dyslexia / Dyspraxia etc. and you would like a full assessment, the Assessment Centre is able to offer students a diagnostic service to determine if you have a Specific Learning Difference such as Dyslexia or Dyspraxia. The university pays part of the fee, however a student contribution of £100 is also required.

Our qualified assessors meet the government guidelines for assessing in Higher Education.
- All our assessors are registered with their respective professional bodies
- All our assessors are qualified to identify Specific Learning Differences (SpLD)
- All our assessors are qualified to recommend, if appropriate, whether a student should be eligible to apply for the Disabled Student Allowance (DSA)
The full assessment can take around 3-4 hours.
