The Institute for Wellbeing Research continues a longstanding tradition of applied research at Bangor in the Department of Psychology. Researchers in the group conduct a broad range of research into health and wellbeing, with a focus on work which aims to understand the psychological, behavioural factors that specifically shape health and wellbeing whilst also developing assessments and interventions at scale.
As well as conducting cutting edge research into health and wellbeing, our researchers work closely with practitioners in Wales and beyond. Our research is making an impact internationally, including Bangladesh, Jamaica, the United States of America, the Republic of Ireland, and South Africa. Closer to home we have strong ties with practitioners in Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Public Health Wales, and with the Welsh Government.
