Why Bangor?

I heard about Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ through an organization in my country that helped me with the application process. I chose Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ because of wide variety of courses in the history and archaeology field and the very positive feedback provided by a Romanian student already studying here. The amazing position of the university, between the mountains and the sea, and coming from a rural community from the heart of Transylvania I wanted to study in a city where I can feel the sense of community and Bangor undoubtedly provides that.

What is the most difficult thing about being an International Student?

The most difficult thing about being an International Student for me was getting used to the British lifestyle which might be slightly different then back in Romania.

The course

The best thing about my course is the opportunity of analysing in great depth the historical and archaeological subjects from all periods of history and gaining many transferable skills through the lectures, workshops and seminars that are provided.

The lecturers

The best thing about the school I am a part of is the high variety of modules that cover all period of history and also the opportunity of seeing some of this primary sources during our museums seminars as well as the field works that equip us with number of transferable skills that go beyond analysing primary text resources to spending time on archaeological sites of national and international importance.

Clubs and Societies

I am proactively involved in The Welsh Princess Society as the vice-president as well as chairing the Undeb Bangor academic societies network.

Bangor and the area

I would say that there are two things that describe Bangor perfectly: the sense of community and the stunning surroundings.

The best thing about Bangor

The atmosphere that Bangor has, that is one of joy for truly discovering your path, excitement for being able to work on building it and happiness.

Support from the university

During the time that I spent here I always had the support from the pastoral care adviser or my tutor and great support and advice from the international department during the time when I was settling in as well as throughout the year.

Advice to new international students

To have no doubts, pay us a visit during the Open days, and just pack their suitcase and come to discover our multicultural student community, outstanding university and the spectacular surroundings.

The future

I am planning on finishing my BA and then applying for a master in medieval studies. My dream job would be to work in the academia as a lecturer or in historical conservation.
