Weils Disease / Leptospirosis
Weils Disease is a serious infection transmitted to humans by contact with urine from infected rats. There is also another form of Weils Disease called the Hardjo form which is transmitted from cattle to humans.
Staff and students who are likely to come into contact with rats, rat or cattle urine should be aware of the symptoms of the disease and the precautions required to protect themselves.
