Prevent Duty
The University has a responsibility to raise awareness amongst staff of the Counter-terrorism and Security Act 2015 and the Prevent Duty. The Prevent Policy outlines the University’s approach and referral procedures.
For more information on any aspect of Prevent, or to report concerns about students or staff relating to Prevent and to provide any available evidence, please do so by contacting prevent@bangor.ac.uk. This address is regularly monitored. However if you consider that an immediate risk of harm to a person or to other people or property exists, you should call the Police via 999 and then please let us know that you have done so.
The Senior Safeguarding, Conduct and Complaints Officer, Steve Barnard (s.barnard@bangor.ac.uk) is the University’s designated Prevent Coordinator as required by the Counterterrorism and Security Act 2015 legislation.
