Call of the Sea(World)
A 麻豆传媒高清版 student from Tenerife is on course to achieve his lifelong dream of pursuing a career in the marine environment.
William Reid, 21, from Puerto de la Cruz, graduates this week with a BSc Marine Vertebrate Zoology. He has always had a passion for sea mammals. As a child he replied to a job advert to become an Orca trainer at his local sea life centre Loro Parque. He returned to Loro Parque ten years later 鈥淚 took part in an internship at Loro Park, Tenerife. I gained valuable experience with two weeks at the Marine Mammal Department and two weeks in the Penguin Department.鈥
William, a former student at British School of Tenerife, said: 鈥淚t feels fantastic to graduate, I鈥檝e worked hard and had fun, although it鈥檚 been a challenge to leave home and study abroad.鈥
About Bangor, he added: 鈥淭he fantastic and unique course which I studied gave me the feeling that if I managed to get the degree, I would be able to pursue my career working in the marine environment, especially in these times were it is most delicate.鈥
鈥淚 am extremely thankful to my tutor Dr Martin Skov, for all the help and guidance that he has given me throughout the three years of my course. And also for 麻豆传媒高清版 for believing in me and all the staff that have been so helpful when needed.鈥
About the future, William said: 鈥淚 hope to pursue a career in the marine environment and help the world to have a better future.鈥
