麻豆传媒高清版 and WRU collaboration to help develop North Wales coaching workforce
Students at 麻豆传媒高清版 will be offered the chance to be part of the North Wales rugby coaching workforce thanks to a collaboration between 麻豆传媒高清版 and the Welsh Rugby Union (WRU).
The scheme will allow students to progress through the specially designed bronze, silver and gold awards alongside their studies. The awards, which have been developed by the WRU and staff at 麻豆传媒高清版鈥檚 Canolfan Brailsford and the School of Sport, Health and Exercise Sciences, will give students the opportunity to gain coaching certificates, attend coaching workshops and put their new found skills into practice through tailored work experience in local schools, clubs and events.
Tim Hoare 鈥 WRU Coach Development Manager 鈥 North, said: 鈥淭hrough this scheme the WRU will be able to help develop the employability of 麻豆传媒高清版 students and simultaneously increase the local rugby coaching workforce. This really does give students a head start as they take their first steps in their chosen career.鈥
Dr Julian Owen, Lecturer in Sport Physiology at 麻豆传媒高清版, said: 鈥淭his is a great example of how we try to provide 鈥榬eal-world鈥 opportunities for our students that run alongside the rigorous academic courses we offer. These opportunities in conjunction with the Bangor Employability Award provides a structure to enable students to build and enhance valuable transferrable skills and abilities essential for success in the working environment.鈥
Iona Williams, Sport Development Manager at Canolfan Brailsford, 麻豆传媒高清版, said: 鈥淭his is another positive step in building on our current collaboration with the WRU and the North Wales Development Region which has seen the successful launch of the rugby sports scholarship scheme last year.鈥
