How do I apply for postgraduate study?
Is there a deadline by which I need to apply?
Generally, you should apply as early as possible as places may fill-up quickly.听 However, applications will usually be accepted right up until the start of term.听 Please check with the School for any deadlines associated with advertised studentships.
How much are the tuition fees?
What does the tuition fee include?
The tuition fee includes the usual costs associated with teaching the course.听 It does not include accommodation, bench fees, consumables certain field trips and living costs.听 You should clarify all the costs associated with your course prior to registering.
What are the living costs for studying at 麻豆传媒高清版?
Currently we estimate a minimum living cost of 拢9,600 for 12 months.听 Costs will vary depending on accommodation and lifestyle choices.
How do I provide proof of my academic qualifications?
You will need to provide evidence of your qualifications. This may be:
- confirmation of your award(s) from your prior university or college
- original transcripts (non-returnable)
- photocopies or scanned copies of your certificates
Authenticated translations will be required where appropriate. Please do not send original certificates through the post.Your original certificates will be required when you register.
What English language qualifications will you accept as evidence of English language proficiency?
Normally, an IELTS score of 6.0 with no element below 5.5, or equivalent qualification is acceptable.听 Certain courses may require higher scores which would specified in the offer of admission.听 If you have an alternative English language qualification, please check with the Admissions Office
Who can be my referee?
It is your responsibility to ensure that a suitable reference is provided (usually not a family member or relation).听 Recent graduates should provide an academic reference, e.g. from the last institution at which you studied. If you are applying under the mature student regulations, your reference should be from a relevant employer. Additional references may be sought at a later date
What if I want to change my course?

Can I get a scholarship or bursary?
Can I follow my course part-time or distance learning?
Most courses can be followed part-time but overseas students are advised to check for any immigration restrictions.听 Distance learning courses are clearly identified.
Can I start my course at any time during the year?
Normally, full-time taught Masters courses commence at the beginning of the academic year in September.听 MPhil and PhD programmes can commence at the beginning of any month subject to agreement with the School.
Can I receive credit for previous study?
The University does recognise credit transfer and accreditation of prior learning.听 You should contact your School as early as possible in order that you request can be considered.

What is a conditional offer?
A conditional offer clearly specifies any conditions that must be satisfied before your place can be confirmed at the University.听
What is an unconditional offer?
An unconditional offer confirms that you have a place at this University.听 You will need to accept or decline this offer by informing the Admissions Office .听 Only by formally accepting the offer will you receive details regarding registration.听 An unconditional offer is only valid for the month and year specified on the document and will lapse after that date.
If I accept my offer of admission will I have to pay fees even if I can’t register for my course?
If you have been required to pay a deposit then this is not normally refundable except in certain cases (e.g. visa refusal).听 Otherwise, tuition fees are not due if you have not formally registered for your course.
How many hours of classes are there per week?
This information can usually be obtained from the School’s website.听 If you require any further information please contact the School directly.
What is the ‘Proposed Registration Date’?
Once you have formally registered, this is the date on which your studies commence.
What is the ‘Period of Registration’?
This the duration of your course.听 This does not include any dissertation/thesis writing-up period which may be longer depending on your course.听 After your period of registration, access to University facilities, e.g. library and computer systems, will lapse.听 If you need to extend this access you should contact your School at the end of your formal period of registration.
What is registration?
Once registered you are a formal student of the University.听 You will be able to access University resources and benefit from University facilities. You will also be subject to the rules and regulations of the University.
How do I register for my course?
Information on how to formally register for your course will be sent to you once you have accepted an unconditional offer of admission.
What if聽 I can’t be in Bangor in time for registration day?

A bench fee / study visit fee is a mandatory additional cost associated with your course that is not included in the tuition fee.听 You would normally be advised of this in your offer letter.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?
A deposit reserves a place for you on the course and assists international students with obtaining entry visas for the UK.

You can pay your deposit by credit/debit card by telephoning 00 44 1248 388484.
You should have your offer letter to hand when you make the call.听 In some cases, payment may be made by automated bank transfer and the University’s bank details will be provided upon request (contact the Admissions Office for details).
Who has to pay a deposit?
Certain courses require a deposit in order to reserve your place on the course.听 You will be advised if a deposit is applicable in your case in your offer of admission.
Will my deposit be refunded if I am unable to come to Bangor?
The deposit is not normally refundable except in certain cases (e.g. visa refusal, certified illness).
What information will I receive before coming to Bangor?
Provided that you have satisfied any conditions attached to you offer of admission, and that you have formally accepted you offer of admission, registration information will be sent to you prior to the start of your course.听 You may also receive additional information from your School.
What do I do when I arrive in Bangor?
After you have settled in to your accommodation, please follow the registration instructions you have already been provided with. Assistance with accommodation is available at the Student Services Centre
