Miss Caitlin Taylor-Robinson
Overview
I am a first year Envision DTP student studying the affects of particulate carbon and micro plastics on seagrass meadows in Wales under the supervision of Dr Martyn Kurr and Dr Martin Skov, with CASE partners Natural Resource Wales.
I obtained a first class undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from Bangor in 2018. During my time at Bangor I received the Barry Paine Summer internship Award, a funded internship which allowed me to assist an MSc student to research the prevalence of microplastics in two commercial species of fish from the Irish Sea. I completed an MRes in Marine biology at the University of Plymouth, in collaboration with the Marine Biological Association, in 2019. Here my research focused on the range extending species Laminaria ochroleuca assessing population structure, grazing communities, reproductivity and biochemical analysis.Ìý
My interests lie in seagrass and seaweed ecosystems, and the anthropogenic impacts affecting them.Ìý
