Sadie Sarvis was awarded a Global Wales Scholarship.
What difference has the Global Wales Scholarship made to you?
The award decreases the size of my educational loan. Because of this, it provides me the freedom to be more discerning about the first position I take after my studies - I will not have to settle for the first job offer I receive if it鈥檚 not a good fit.
How did your application stand out?
I communicated genuine enthusiasm for and thoughtfulness about the program I applied for. I approached my short answers from a variety of perspectives: why I am motivated, what I have to offer, what the program offers me, and my specific experiences of visiting Wales previously.

What鈥檚 been the best part about your Bangor studies so far?
Being in the gorgeous old library is a delight. Learning Welsh has been both exciting and enjoyable. I go hiking, climbing, or swimming every weekend in the mountains. There is so much beautiful nature accessible by public transport.
Why apply?
You never know if you will be successful until you try and try again. A scholarship is such a gift; it is absolutely worth the time and energy it takes to apply.
