Why did you choose Bangor?
I chose Bangor because of the international reputation of the Psychology department and its recognition as one of the best places to study in the UK in terms of both location and student experience.
Teaching Quality
The academics who delivered my course are world leading in their subject areas meaning I gained highly relevant skills, enabling my future career direction.
Social Life
Unfortunately, my year in Bangor coincided with the heaviest Covid-19 pandemic restrictions in Wales which made socialising more difficult, however, I formed good friendships with my flatmates at St Mary's and was able to enjoy the amazing countryside of North Wales with friends I made at the University.
The Location
Bangor has everything. It's on the doorstep of Snowdonia, there are sandy beaches a bus ride away. There is a rich culture with historical treasures. My favourite locations include Penmon and South Stack lighthouses on Anglesey as well as Newborough beach and the Menai Bridge.
Best thing about Bangor?
The course and the weather. If you come from a hot country like me, being able to stare at the clouds and watch them grow darker before they empty themselves on you is a great experience. The sun still comes out occasionally, showing off the beauty of this natural landscape.
