Tell us a bit about your experience at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ….
I thoroughly enjoyed studying at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ and it is without a doubt that the support and opportunities provided to me have enabled me to be where I am today. Throughout my time at Bangor, I was fortunate to be involved in many extra-curricular activities, including being Mistress of the Moot, a Halls of Residents Mentor, and an Intern Research Assistant for the Law School's Cymuned project.
Why did you choose to study at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ?
Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ's Law School have a strong emphasis on extra-curricular activities and the importance of graduating from university with more than just a degree. The well-established mooting program allowed me to develop my public speaking skills and understand the importance of having a comprehensive understanding of the law relevant to your client's matter and explaining the law in a down-to-earth, client friendly manner.
How has your career developed since graduating from Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ, and what is your current job role?Â
I am a Residential Property Legal Assistant at JCP Solicitors in South Wales and a part-time LPC LLM student. I started my first graduate job two days after my last LL.B exam during the Stamp Duty Land Tax and Land Transaction Tax holidays, in what was then a very busy period for residential property. Learning to study for my LL.B whilst working as a Residential Mentor put me in good stead to balance a busy caseload following graduation.
What advice would you give to students thinking about studying at Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ?
Do not be afraid to put yourself out there. Graduate jobs require strong academics and skills learnt from extra-curricular activities, such as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The opportunities offered at Bangor will enable you to develop the skills required to step into
