10/23 Weekly online mindfulness meditation sessions for staff – Wednesdays 9:00-9:30am on Teams
These sessions are guided by mindfulness teachers from the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice. A chance to get your Wednesday off to a good start by coming along to the online practice session. It is suitable for everyone - from complete beginners to those with a regular meditation practice.
What to expect:
A warm welcome, followed by a 20-25 minute mindfulness practice which may be mindfulness of body, mindfulness of breath or sound, gentle mindful movement practice, or a ‘mountain’ practice. You don’t need any special equipment and this can be done at home or in the office (if you have a quiet office!) You are welcome to either leave your camera on or turn it off, whatever feels most comfortable to you.
“The mindfulness sessions are a great addition to my working week. I recognise the stress I am holding physically, and in my mind, and afterwards I feel much calmer, focused and able to face the day. I look forward to the session every week.” Nic Nikolic – Wrexham campus
“I really enjoy the weekly mindfulness sessions, they are a great way to set yourself up for a busy day of work. Since they run via Teams, you can join in wherever you may be. I regularly practice mindfulness on my own, so it's lovely to have the opportunity to practice in a group and share experiences with others. Mindfulness practice has helped me to manage anxiety and stress, and has played a big part in helping me to manage my CFS/ME.” Nia Weatherley – Bangor campus
