拢4.2 million for 麻豆传媒高清版鈥檚 Digital Signal Processing (DSP) to bring 5G broadband connections to parts of Anglesey
The Welsh Government are providing 拢4.2 million of funding to 麻豆传媒高清版鈥檚 Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Centre of Excellence to bring 5G broadband connections through fibre optic cables into harder-to-reach areas.聽
The University is working with a consortium of companies including to increase the capacity and enhance the sensing ability of fibre optic cables used to deliver faster and more reliable mobile broadband, and this will be trailed by more than 400 premises on Ynys Mon that do not have access to superfast broadband. The broadband delivery part of the project will last 18 months and will allow customers to be connected as soon as the first site is live and will continue through 2025.聽
The DSP is delighted that the Welsh Government have indicated their intentions to invest in this project, together with 5G EDC consortium and our partners we鈥檙e keen to get this phase one project underway with the aspiration of expanding this work in the near future
The DSP Centre was established in 2019 with 拢3.9m EU Funds through ERDF funding and was recently awarded an additional 拢3m funding through Ambition North Wales. This 拢4.2m broadband project is also being supported by Isle of Anglesey County Council.
