University reaffirms commitment to Canolfan Bedwyr
麻豆传媒高清版 has reaffirmed its commitment to聽Canolfan Bedwyr, the University鈥檚 innovative centre for Welsh language services.
The University is currently undertaking a restructure of academic and professional service structures but has confirmed that Canolfan Bedwyr will remain an important component of its structure.聽
Commenting on public concerns expressed following the announcement of the restructure, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Professor Andrew Edwards, stated: 鈥淲e are extremely fortunate to be able to draw on the wealth of expertise that exists within Canolfan Bedwyr and over the coming years this expertise will continue to help us deliver the goals in the University's Welsh language strategy which we are currently reviewing as part of our strategic planning.
鈥淭hrough combining the Directorship of Canolfan Bedwyr with the new role of Dean of Welsh Language Development, we are ensuring that Canolfan Bedwyr will be at the very heart of the teaching, research and externally-facing Welsh medium activities of the University.鈥
Professor Enlli Thomas, Associate Pro-Vice Chancellor for Welsh, added: 鈥溌槎勾礁咔灏 has a long history of excellence in research and services pertaining to the Welsh language and in research relating to the bilingual context in which Welsh exists and Canolfan Bedwyr has been instrumental in the development of these features.
鈥淲e are expanding the remit of Canolfan Bedwyr to strengthen further our support for the Welsh language throughout the University which is an exciting development, and I look forward to working closely with Canolfan Bedwyr in my new role as Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor for Welsh at the University.鈥
