The University鈥檚 North Wales Medical School is keen to share their plans, as well as to hear the opinion of the public and that of various interest groups. All interested parties are invited to an Open Meeting on Saturday 27th January 2024, in Pontio, Deiniol Road, Bangor between 12-3pm.
The event will consist of four short themed-presentations with time set aside for discussion and feedback after each one.
Leading the development of the North Wales Medical School is Mike Larvin, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Medicine & Health and Dean of Medicine.
Mike Larvin said,
鈥淭he exciting development of the new independent North Wales Medical School builds on 麻豆传媒高清版鈥檚 work with healthcare partners across the entire North Wales region to better support our local communities. The school aims to address regional healthcare staffing problems by providing students with an opportunity to undertake the whole of their undergraduate training in North Wales.
鈥淲e have been working closely over many years with local GPs, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, Cardiff University and Welsh Government to plan the Medical School programme. But for it to be successful, we need more local input and so we鈥檇 like to invite you to participate in a key stakeholder event.
鈥淲e will share a brief presentation on how we aim to graduate doctors who are more attuned to the needs of our communities in North Wales with an opportunity for questions, followed by four themed presentations which will provide us with public feedback and new ideas on how to improve our plans. We look forward to meeting people and greatly value the contribution of individuals and health user groups and other organisations can bring to this exciting project.
As refreshment is provided, participants are requested to register. Please follow this link to聽the Event page.
