The Staff Wellbeing Book Club has been created to bring colleagues together around
literature that is focused on our wellbeing and facilitates a sense of connectedness and
belonging. Through the words of others, we can explore our emotions, connect to
others through shared literary experiences and expand our understanding of the world.
The Book Club is a safe space (online and in-person) where all are welcome. You are
not expected to recite passages, to have read the whole book or to know it inside-out.
It is a way for us to share our interpretations of what we have read, hear other
perspectives and ultimately learn how to prioritise wellbeing in our everyday lives.
Sessions are facilitated by Staff Wellbeing Champions and members of the University
Library Teams at Wrexham and Bangor. Spaces are available at both libraries for
colleagues to join the call together (if they don鈥檛 have easy access to a laptop or phone
to join the call) and copies of the books we read together will be available through the
university library catalogue.
