Towards a sustainable future for north Wales and its communities
Join the IWA and Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ as we look into how we can create a sustainable future for communities in north Wales.
The final event in our 3-year partnership will bring together panellists and keynote speakers to discuss the wider challenges and opportunities for the region. We will look into how we can ensure the wellbeing of its communities, and its economic, environmental and socio-cultural sustainability. We will also explore the role that north Wales can play not only on the Welsh, but on the UK and global stage, as well.
As the culmination of our partnership, the event will tie in themes from our five preceding events, which explored a range of topics pertinent to our north-Walian communities (health economics, sustainable tourism development, Wales and Ireland relations, energy infrastructure and community ownership). We will reflect on the role of social purpose and value in the higher and further education sector, and the role universities, as anchor institutions, can play in addressing shared social, economic and political challenges.
The event will be chaired by Professor Andrew Edwards, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ, who will be joined by:
- Dr Edward Jones – Senior Lecturer in Economics, Â鶹´«Ã½¸ßÇå°æ
- Meleri Davies – Chief Officer, Partneriaeth Ogwen
- Sarah Schofield – Director of Customers and Communities, Adra
- Nia Jones – Executive Director, Cwmni Frân Wen
- Dylan Williams – Chief Executive, Anglesey County Council
This event will be available in both Welsh and English.
