DSP Centre researcher, Dr Luis Vallejo, undertakes a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at Universitat Politecnica de Valencia, Spain
Dr. Luis Vallejo (Post-doctoral Research Officer) was invited to undertake a short-term scientific mission (STSM), supported by the CA19111 - European Network on Future Generation Optical Wireless Communication Technologies (NEWFOCUS) project, at the Photonic Research Labs, Instituto de Telecomunicaciones y Aplicaciones Multimedia (iTEAM), Universitat Politecnica de Valencia (UPV), Spain, from 17th May to 16th June 2024.
During his visit, under the guidance of Prof. Beatriz Ortega, he conducted experimental demonstrations focused on achieving a full-duplex communications in convergence fiber-wireless network for Beyond 5G (B5G), utilizing free-running lasers for high-frequency signal generation.
Additionally, he investigated the integration of Optical Wireless Communications (OWC) technologies, particularly Free-Space Optics (FSO), to enhance network performance and reliability.
This collaboration led to an agreement to jointly publish the findings. Moreover, the collaboration has provided valuable experience in integrated microwave photonics and established robust personal connections. Following this, UPV and 麻豆传媒高清版 have opened a new channel for research collaboration, which we are committed to maintaining and strengthening for future joint efforts.
