Overview
This module content includes: Advanced skills in database/literature searching and selection of appropriate literature/resources. Critical appraisal / critiquing of academic literature, grey literature and policy. 麻豆传媒高清版 skills to support structuring, formatting and writing a substantial written assignment. Personal development of transferable graduate skills to enable the student to gain confidence in time management, negotiation, communication to gain tutorial support for the assignment including negotiating supervision, self-direction and independent enquiry. Negotiating and engaging with supervision to support self-directed learning and independent study.
Assessment Strategy
-threshold -D+ to D-Demonstrate some knowledge of key areas/principles related to the research topic and study design. Have some, if only limited, evidence of exploration of theory related to the dissertation. Be focused on the dissertation learning outcomes with some irrelevant material and weaknesses in structure. Attempt to present relevant and logical arguments in line with the expectation of an undergraduate Dissertation. Not contain a large number of factual errors. Attempt to analyse and/or explain issues explored in relation to the topic and research design. Be largely free of major weaknesses in presentation and accuracy, although minor errors may be present.
-good -B- to B+Demonstrate a good knowledge of key areas/principles related to the research topic and study design. Have strong evidence of exploration of theory related to the dissertation. Be focused on the dissertation learning outcomes with few examples of irrelevant material or weaknesses in structure. Presents relevant and logical arguments in line with the expectation of an undergraduate Dissertation. Contains few factual errors. Good analysis and/or explanation of a range issues in relation to the topic and research design. Be free of many weaknesses in presentation and accuracy.
-excellent -A- To A*Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of key areas/principles related to the research topic and study design. Have comprehensive evidence of exploration of theory related to the dissertation. Be focused on the dissertation learning outcomes no irrelevant material or weaknesses in structure. Presents a wide range of relevant and logical arguments to a high standard within an undergraduate Dissertation. Contains no factual errors. An excellent analysis and explanation of a wide range of issues explored in relation to the topic and research design. Be free of weaknesses in presentation and accuracy.
-another level-C- to C+Demonstrate knowledge of key areas/principles related to the research topic and study design. Have good evidence of exploration of theory related to the dissertation. Be focused on the dissertation learning outcomes with minor evidence of irrelevant material and weaknesses in structure. Attempt to present relevant and logical arguments in line with the expectation of an undergraduate Dissertation. Not contain a large number of factual errors. Attempt to analyse and/or explain issues explored in relation to the topic and research design. Be free of major weaknesses in presentation and accuracy.
