Serial Killer Criminal Defence Lawyer Talks To Current Students
Students from Criminology and Criminal Justice were joined in class recently by Dylan Rhys-Jones a Criminal Defense Lawyer who聽represented Peter Moore.
Dylan Rhys-Jones practiced law for over 20 years and during his career represented a range of clients charged with various crimes. One of Dylan's more high profile cases was when he represented Peter Moore, the Welsh serial killer. Peter Moore was accused of murdering four men in 1995 in North Wales, his trade mark attire of a black shirt and tie gave him the nickname 'man in black'. Dylan went on to write a book about the case titled 'The Man in Black' where he tells the story of when he represented the serial killer.聽
Having Dylan speak to students gave them an insight into a real life criminal case and the workings of a trial. He gave the students an opportunity to listen to his story of how he worked with a serial killer and how a case is put together. Having such guest speakers is key for students so they understand how they can apply what they teach outside the classroom and show them potential career avenues they could follow once graduated.聽
